Wildlife lists built from GTA 6's official material — including gtabase's confirmed-animals roundup and the trailer fauna analyses summarized by Game Rant — include wild pigs among the species identified in trailer footage from the May 2025 reveal era. In a Florida-inspired backcountry, that tracks completely.

Feral hogs (Sus scrofa) have been tearing up Florida since the 1500s, when Spanish expeditions first brought pigs ashore — arguably America's oldest invasive species problem. Today they occupy every county in the state, number in the hundreds of thousands, and cause so much crop and wetland damage that Florida allows hunting them year-round with almost no restrictions. A rooting sounder of hogs is a standard sight (and hazard) in the palmetto scrub north of the Everglades.

Boars are also veteran Rockstar wildlife: GTA 5 had aggressive boars in the Blaine County brush that would charge players on foot, and Red Dead Redemption 2 made them a dangerous huntable species. Leonida's swampy interior and farm country around Ambrosia and Port Gellhorn is prime hog territory — and if GTA 6 inherits any of RDR2's hunting DNA, expect them to charge first and ask questions never. See where the backcountry sits in our GTA 6 map guide.
