The baseball bat is the most iconic melee weapon in Grand Theft Auto history, and bats are indeed visible in Grand Theft Auto VI's official materials — but, as TheGamer's roundup carefully notes, mostly in recreational contexts, alongside other swingable objects like golf clubs and pool cues glimpsed across the trailers and screenshots — though one official Port Gellhorn screenshot shows a bat shouldered in a decidedly less sporting setting. Rockstar has not confirmed any melee weapon lineup.
That caveat matters for a database committed to official information: seeing a bat at a batting cage or a cue at a pool table is not the same as confirmation players can crack skulls with them. Screen Rant's analysis draws the same line, listing bats, hammers, minigolf clubs, pool cues, and a switchblade as teased items while stating that no melee weapons have been officially confirmed as wieldable.
History is heavily on the bat's side, though. It has appeared in every mainline entry since the original 1997 Grand Theft Auto, was famously the first weapon in GTA III and Vice City, and returned in GTA V alongside an expanded melee roster. Rockstar cutting it from GTA VI would be a genuine series first — but until official material shows one used in anger, this entry stays in the unconfirmed column.
Unconfirmed: everything beyond its visual presence — whether it is usable, the wider melee roster, and how hand-to-hand combat (visible in trailer footage) relates to armed melee.
