A double-barrel shotgun shows up in Grand Theft Auto VI's official materials in one of the most Leonida images Rockstar has released: a hunter leveling the break-action gun at an alligator, a scene catalogued in weapon roundups by TheGamer and Screen Rant. Analyses note the version shown is a long-barreled hunting configuration rather than the sawed-off variant the series usually favors.

Shotguns are well represented across the official footage generally — frame analyses of the trailers and screenshots have also identified pump-action models on gun-store racks, with Screen Rant additionally spotting a semi-automatic model that appears based on the Benelli M4. Rockstar has named none of them, so this entry uses the series' traditional name for the class.

The Double Barrel (or Sawn-off) Shotgun is one of GTA's oldest weapons, dating to the 2D era and appearing in San Andreas, GTA V, and GTA Online, while Red Dead Redemption 2 made its double-barrel a hunting staple. Its appearance opposite an alligator hints that GTA VI's shotguns may serve the same dual crime-and-wilderness role they did in RDR2, fitting a map that stretches from Vice City into the Leonida Keys swamps.

Unconfirmed: whether the long-barrel and a sawed-off version are separate weapons, its stats, and whether hunting is a supported activity. Rockstar has confirmed no gameplay systems around it.
