An AR-15-pattern carbine appears repeatedly across Grand Theft Auto VI's official materials — in Trailer 2's action footage and in official screenshots — in at least two configurations that analyses read as the same rifle wearing different attachments. Rockstar has not published a name; "Carbine Rifle" follows the series' own naming convention for this weapon class.
Close-ups catalogued by TheGamer and Screen Rant spotted a Duke Arms Company insignia on the receiver — a new in-fiction manufacturer for the series — and configurations including foregrips, optics, and different barrel lengths. Frame analyses of trailer and screenshot footage have also noted racks of AK-pattern rifles in a gun-store scene, suggesting the assault rifle class spans both Western and Eastern-bloc families as it has in past games.
The Carbine Rifle name has appeared in every 3D-era-and-later GTA: Vice City's Ruger, San Andreas' M4, GTA IV and V's Carbine Rifles. GTA V eventually shipped more than half a dozen AR variants through updates, so the multiple configurations in GTA VI footage fit an established pattern of one platform, many builds — now apparently with a far more granular attachment system.
Unconfirmed: the official name, stats, caliber fiction, and whether the two spotted configurations are separate weapons or one customizable rifle. Rockstar has confirmed nothing about gameplay mechanics.
